Today was the day of the wedding!! We didn’t have the most sleep because having one beer in a pub is never possible. Lol but we made the trek to Drogheda at 10am and made it just before the start at 2. Merhawit tried driving on the motorway for the first time and we survived. 😂
The wedding was at a church in Drogheda and the ceremony was full of rituals I had never seen before. It was really interesting, but also really enjoyable because Jen and Dave were MARRIED! 😀
Jen’s dress was gorgeous and she looked absolutely breathtaking.
From the ceremony we went to Castle Bellingham for the reception. The castle grounds are gorgeous and the castle itself was beautiful. Food was amazing, and the speeches were full of shout outs for “the Americans” hahaha The partying went until late (I quit at 3:30am) I think people were at the bar until 5ishhhh. Jen said I went the distance so I was happy with myself. Ha
The dancing went all night and was so fun!! I also noticed the food just never stopped. There was cocktails with appetizers (I had the best smoked salmon of my life and could have eaten the entire tray!!) the main courses for dinner…fish and chips snacks served around midnight… then a Tayto Sambo station was setup after 1ish. What is a Tayto Sambo? It’s Tayto chips put between two slices of bread with butter. It’s awful for your arteries and amazing at 3am after starting the partying at 4. LOL
Everyone was lovely and the staff was amazing. Our room and bathroom are perfect for staying in a castle. We really had a great time and I am exhausted! Night.
