Second day! 8/1
*LOVING the break from driving.*

Last night we went to get fish and chips at McDonaughs (delicious and apparently 2nd or 3rd best fish & chips in Ireland depending on who you ask) and walked through the city center of Gallway. IT IS ADORABLE. Every shop is like a little boutique, the streets are cobblestone and the walls/doors of the shops outside are colorful. I highly recommend a visit here if you ever visit. I ordered the fish skewer and chips, and chowder because soups are my fav. Lol Both were VERY good! Video below is of the decor inside.

After McDonaughs we went to a pub called The Quays. It was raceweek (horse races, which is apparently HUGE here) so everyone was dressed very posh and the bars were packed, ours was no exception. Lots of people had flown in from U.K. For the races so we had some fun conversation with a few of them. They had 2 live bands playing that were so good! Ed Sheehan was a regular cover, esp “Gallway girl” which now means more to me. Haha but they also played traditional Irish songs and American country. Merhawit and I stayed out and loved the live music!

Today we relaxed a bit more. Shopping in Gallway, it was a beautiful day out! I had the best Danish I have ever had in my life, with another perfect tea. Walked down to the water and enjoyed the view. Bought amazing baguette sandwiches and ate them in the main park where everyone was out enjoying the sun and break from rain. It was really nice to experience people actually utilizing public parks. Musicians were playing guitars/ fiddles etc (which is everywhere I swear everyone is musical. But it’s pleasant!) kids were playing, couples were just laying on the grass taking it in…and we did the same. It was lovely. I tired Murphys ice cream, which I highly recommend the Irish Sea Salt!

Once we got back to the hotel (Radisson Blu//Gallway)  from our long stroll we packed the car and got massages in the spa, which were 👌🏽. Massage was needed as I had knots from what I coined as “Stress Driving” there. Hahaha Massage was wonderful and then we were off on the road for Cork.
